For the past two years I have been designing bespoke book covers for authors around the world, the process is always fun and intriguing as I like to get to know my clients and what their book is about through meetings and emails. This allows me to connect with the story and hopefully create a cover that truly reflects the contents of the book. With my designs I hope that you can judge them by the cover!

“The Happy Refugee” by Zoltan Mihaly was the first book cover I ever designed. Made to reflect the story of the book, which chronicles the life story of the author who escaped from Hungary during Soviet occupation in the 1980’s I painstakingly recreated passport stamps from significant places and dates from the book. The four round stamps on the front cover are the names and birthdays of Zoltans children, to whom the book is dedicated.

I made the cover for “My Cosmic Quest” by Paul Gavan by compositing the astro photography of my childhood friendĀ Chris Garman.
Paul already had a clear vision so I designed some space ships and added them to the cover at his request.
